The next big thing
Today,
I’m bringing to you the Next Big Thing. I was tagged by the lovely Yelena Casale. (Check out her Next Big Thing post here). This is the 17th week of this blog hop, designed for writers to connect with readers and reveal a little bit about their current work in progress.
What is the working title of your book?
I know it will be ‘something’ storm, but I haven’t quite decided yet. I’m calling it Vamp 4 (Heart of a Vampire, book 4).
Where did the idea come from for the book?
When I get a book idea, my mind automatically wonders how it could be turned into a series. So, the HoaV series came with an idea for my first couple. In book 4, readers get to know Brandon Wulfgar, one of the Viking twins who guard the vampire king.
What genre does your book fall under?
Vampire paranormal romance
Which Actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
This is hilarious to answer, because I actually have pictures of my characters for my own reference. Brandon Wulfgar would be played by Chris Hemsworth (from Thor of course). Celeste Wilder would be Salma Hayek.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Hmm. I don’t actually have one yet. Okay, made up on the fly: An old-school Viking warrior must convince a mortal detective that the paranormal is real in order to save her family, and her soul.
What do you think? Yeah, needs work.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
My plan is to self-publish this entire series.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
I’m writing it right now. I started on October 9th, with the goal to be done before the end of the month… at least with this first draft, LOL.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Um, I have no idea. I generally don’t compare myself to other authors. Anyone who’s read the books in this series want to answer?
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
The characters. They’re always the culprits. They get in my head, demanding their story be told and refuse to go away until I comply.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I know what I wonder about. How can an immortal vampire and a mortal homicide detective find their happily ever after.

Dragos Burned was my first erotic romance, not just published, but to write.
I admit, I had a blast writing about a sexy dragoness and a fireman. I mean really, that’s like mixing fire and water

Calla turned the corner. The wall of the bar was longer than she’d have thought, stretching out to meet a wide shed. To her right, trees spread out beneath the moonlight. She stared into the darkness, letting her eyes change, her vision expand, searching for movement. But the sulfur quickly dissipated. Eric had fled. Again. Her body shook with memories of what he’d done. Of all she wanted to do to him in payment.
“Hey. What was that all about?” Scott asked, catching up to her.
“Shh,” she hissed.
Scott glanced out at the trees even though his sight must be next to useless. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to see even for her.
Shifting her eyes back to human, Calla turned to Scott. He stood like a warrior ready for battle. Trying to play it off, she said, “Sorry. I thought I knew that guy. But he’s gone now.”
“Uh huh.” Suspicion colored his voice. She ignored it.
“Now look, this is my town, my people to protect. You know something and you damn well better share,” he growled.
Calla glanced back at the trees, hoping for something, anything. The smallest sign of the Other.
Scott grabbed her arm and spun her around, backing her to the wooden wall of the bar. A beam of moonlight shone down on his grip.
The feel of his skin on hers sent magic and heat rushing through her body. His palm burned with fire, his fingers sending hot pulses up her arm and deep inside.
Destiny. It had caught up to her.

Who can argue with destiny? Who can turn down a sexy fireman?
Not my dragon shifter, that’s for sure, LOL.

St Patrick’s Day Fun and Food
St Patrick’s Day. When I think of this holiday, I think ‘Irish’ and ‘Green’.
We also think Corned beef and cabbage : )
I cook this every year around St Patrick’s Day (and any other time I can get away with it, LOL). So today I thought I’d share my take on the recipe.
CROCKPOT CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE
1 (3 to 4 lb.) corned beef brisket
1 large head cabbage (preferably savoy)
6 cloves garlic, peeled
1 pound carrots, peeled
6 large potatoes
1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp. black pepper, ground
Wash brisket. Using a small sharp knife, cut tiny X slits in the meat and insert garlic cloves pieces.
Place the meat in a large Crock-Pot and cover with water.
Bring to a boil on high setting. Boil for 10 minutes, skimming off the grey foam that rises to the surface using a wire skimmer or large spoon.
Reduce heat to lower setting and allow to simmer (not boil) for 5 hours, adding water as needed to keep covered.
Meanwhile, prepare vegetables. Quarter the cabbage, dice potatoes and carrots.
During last few hours, add vegetables and continue to cook until vegetables are tender.

Holiday Bloghop Winners
